MAORI & HERITAGE PLANNING - JUNE 2010, ISSUE
177
Welcome all to Planning Quarterly's Maori and Heritage Issue. The Editorial Panel were overwhelmed by the high number and calibre of articles submitted for this issue, and we've been able to bring you a whole issue dedicated to Maori and heritage planning.
THE STUDENT ISSUE - MARCH 2010, ISSUE 176
This new look issue of Planning Quarterly (PQ) showcases student planning work. The editorial panel has been overwhelmed by the breadth of issues covered by the students, not to mention the amount of time, thought and effort that has clearly gone into the articles. Their enthusiasm in submitting articles is very encouraging for the profession moving forward (and for future contributors to PQ, of course!). Well done to you all. Because of the high level of contributions, we have a jam packed issue for you.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT & STRUCTURE
PLANNING - DECEMBER 2009, ISSUE 175
This issue focuses on economic development and structure planning, with contributions from Suzanne Vallance, Harvey Perkins and Jacky Bowring on engineering the sustainable city, Bruce McKenzie on green infrastructure and Jeanette Fitzsimons and Cameron Wood on the Rolleston Structure Plan. Following from last issue’s theme, Karen Bell and Phill Reid article discusses the pros and cons between full or rolling reviews and Peter Fuller and Cathy Wilson article addresses the RMA amendments relating to trade competition. The Canterbury Branch provide us an update on what they’ve been up to and Daniel Clay and Shannan Mills outline the latest relevant ruling from the Courts. Unfortunately another stalwart of the planning profession has also left us; Alan Watson takes us through the life of Francis Bacon and the contributions he has made.
RMA & LOCAL GOVERNMENT REFORM - SEPTEMBER 2009, ISSUE
174
Welcome all to the September issue of Planning Quarterly. We had hoped to bring you an article-packed issue covering RMA and local government reform, but with the extension of report back for the RM Streamlining and Simplifying Amendment Bill and the Auckland Governance reform still being with Select Committee, this hasn’t been possible. At the time of writing this editorial, the Select Committee’s report had been tabled in the House, but it has yet to go through its second or third reading and for any supplementary order papers to tbe tabled. We would welcome articles on these reforms once the legislation has been enacted.
