The Resources and Environmental Planning (REP) programme at Waikato University is an interdisciplinary program that involves papers from Geography, Earth Science, Biology and Economics or Political Science & Public Policy.
The interdisciplinary nature of the program aims to deepen your knowledge about the natural world (the natural science subjects) and human use of the natural environment (the social science subjects). You will learn the latest thinking about sustainable development and an ethic of care for our environment. The REP programme is designed for people who would like a career in the management or conservation of land, water, seacoast or natural resources. It is particularly strong in rural and resource-based planning.
The below degree is accredited by the New Zealand Planning Institute®:
- Master of Environmental Planning (MEP)*
*MEP is only recognised if you have also completed a "Bachelor of Social Science with Honors in Resources and Environmental Planning" (BSocSci(Hons)REP)
NOTE: The Waikato University programme is accredited through October 2009. Those students who enrolled in postgraduate courses on or before 30 June 2009 and complete the programme by the end of 2012 will graduate with an accredited planning degree.

- Postgraduate Diploma in Resource and Environmental Planning (PGDipREP)", prior 2006 graduates
- Master of Science Resource and Environmental Planning (MSc), 1989 - 1994 Graduates
- Master of Social Science in Resource and Environmental Planning(MSocSci), 1989 - 1994 graduates.
