NZPI Chair, Bryce Julyan has announced the winners of the 2012 New Zealand Planning Institute Awards that were presented at the NZPI Conference held in Blenheim last week.
The excellent range of projects, plans, strategies, teams and individuals nominated for this year's awards reflects the quality and diversity of our profession. The Panel was particularly impressed with the range and depth of work being undertaken throughout the country and the leadership exhibited by many of the work examples clearly showcasing planners and the profession.
My warmest thanks also to my colleagues Dean Chrystal, Chair of the Awards Panel, Jane Douglas, former Chair of NZPI and former Councillor Rebecca Perrett who shared with me both the privilege and responsibility of selecting recipients and to those many members and organisations who prepared nominations for the range of awards we considered. The standard of nominations was outstanding.
The winners are:
Nancy Northcroft Planning Practice Award (Supreme Practice Award)
Rodney Davies Project Award
Best Practice Award: Strategic Planning and Guidance
Best Practice Award: District and Regional Planning
Best Practice Award: Integrated Planning and Investigations
Best Practice Award: Consultation and Participation Strategies and/or Processes
