To facilitate the recovery and regeneration of Christchurch Central, the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority has developed draft amendments to the Christchurch Central Recovery Plan. The draft amendments include:

  • proposed changes to the central city noise provisions in the Christchurch City Plan to make it easier for hospitality and entertainment businesses to invest in the central city while protecting residential amenity
  • proposed changes to the Christchurch City Plan so that the South Frame anchor project, which includes the Health and Innovation precincts, can go ahead

The draft amendments are available on the Christchurch Central Development Unit website (www.ccdu.govt.nz).

The Minister for Canterbury Earthquake Recovery is seeking written comment from the public on the draft amendments to the Recovery Plan from 14 June 2014 to 12 July 2014, in accordance with section 22 of the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Act 2011. Written comments received will then be considered by the Minister before any changes are made to the Recovery Plan.
