On 8 November, planners from around the world will join together to celebrate planning and the planning profession as part of the 'World Town Planning Day'.

This year, NZPI and its branches have agreed to developing various events and activities for the week of 8 November around the theme of 'Proud to be a Planner'.

Just two of the ways in which this theme will be promoted are as follows:

  • Members are encouraged to email a 'selfie' (head shot) and a 25 word sentence on why they are proud to be a planner. These will then be published on the NZPI website as a photo gallery and used in literature to promote the profession to aspiring planners.
  • NZPI's history is long and deserved of more profile, we therefore encourage members to send in photos or stories from NZPI's history that could be placed on the NZPI website.
