Innovative risk-based planning and engagement for natural hazards

New Zealand planning was strongly represented with five of the eight shortlisted entries being local projects. An international judging panel reviewed all the nominations and we are pleased to announce that the Bay of Plenty Regional Council, Enfocus, GNS Science & Integrity Professionals Limited were selected as the overall winner for their work in “Innovative risk-based planning & engagement for Natural Hazards”.

In selecting this project the judges noted the thorough and innovative approach led by planners and recognising diversity, engagement and the need for simplicity. The saw that the use of a natural hazard integrated approach, planning science and wider considerations of risk had particular relevance across the Commonwealth when thinking about climate change, hazards and other resilience challenges

Our congratulations go to the Bay of Plenty Regional Council, Enfocus, GNS Science & Integrity Professionals Limited on winning this prestigious award.
