Inaugural Reginald Hammond Scholarship Awarded

In late 2010 the New Zealand Planning Institute launched the inaugural Reginald Hammond Scholarship. The Reginald Hammond Memorial Scholarship was so named in commemoration of the first New Zealander to complete a town planning qualification. Valued at $4,000 the scholarship will be awarded annually for the final year of study for an accredited planning degree at the undergraduate or post-graduate level in New Zealand.

The applications for the Inaugural Scholarship were of a high quality and an absolute credit to those students who applied. Both the Scholarship Selection Panel and the Executive were impressed with all of the applications, but one in particular stood out. It is therefore, with much pleasure that the Council announces Katrina David as the winner of the Inaugural winner of the Reginald Hammond Scholarship.

Well done to all who applied for the scholarship and congratulations to Katrina on her success.
