NZPI Draft Strategic Plan 2013-2016

It's Time - for a New Direction:

As indicated earlier in the year the new Board of NZPI is intent on setting a new strategic direction for the organisation, a direction that is very much based on members needs. The new strategic thinking is embodied within the draft Strategy please see above link.

The draft strategy before you is the result of initial branch workshops held across New Zealand and a Strategic Review workshop held by the Board in mid September.

Some background to the Document

As you will see the document has been simplified from the previous Strategy to reflect member feedback . The sections of the Strategy are now titled as follows:

  • Purpose (Who we are and why we exist)
  • Guiding Principles (The way in which we strive to act)
  • Vision (Aspirations and direction for 2022)
  • Key Focus and measures (Organisational priorities for the next three years)
  • Possible Taglines

Could I please ask you to cast your keen eye over the draft NZPI Strategy 2013-2016 and provide feedback to me on the document before close of business 9 November 2012.

As you are looking through the document could I ask you to think about anything that you believe we have left out or that we have included that requires amendment please? Also, the Strategy includes a number of possible taglines that the Board discussed in its Strategic Review meeting. It would be great if you would like to nominate your preferred tagline when making comment.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks to those of you who took time out of your busy schedules to attend the branch workshops, it was heartening to see so much interest across the branches in the future of NZPI.

I look forward to receiving your individual feedback and thank you in advance for taking the time to contribute to this foundation document for our organisation. Comments can be made to me via or by phone 09 5206277.

Warmest regards

Susan Houston
