Environmental Defence Society Calls for Expertise for Coastal Guide Review

The Environmental Defence Society is currently preparing a significantly updated version of the coastal guide they wrote in 2005. This will take into consideration all the changes to the NZCPS and any new case law plus offer some practical guidance for developers/council staff and the general public on developing coastal land. The fully revised version of this guide will describe the implications of the new national policy for coastal managers, developers, community groups and individuals.

The guide has been drafted and is currently being reviewed by a number of experts in different fields which is to be completed by 30 April. The guide is intended to be published and publicly launched in early August 2013.

If you have relevant expertise and are interested in being involved in a review of all or some specific chapters of the guide please feel free to contact Lucy Brake at lucy@eds.org.nz by 30 April.
