The New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI) was pleased to bestow an Honorary membership and award a Fellow of the NZPI at an event in Christchurch last night. The awards recognised the outstanding service to the profession and contribution to the advancement of the practice of planning in New Zealand of two very special individuals.

Sarah Dawson has been awarded Fellow membership, the highest level attainable within NZPI. Her outstanding contribution to the Institute, her influence on the advancement of planning practice and her leading role in some of New Zealand’s major planning projects, collectively warrants her recognition as a Fellow of the New Zealand Planning Institute.

Peter Skelton has joined a small group of NZPI distinguished members as the seventh Honorary member. Peter’s sixty years of legal, environmental, and resource management experience include statutory planning and Environment Court activities as well as his more recent contributions to planning practice, plan development, plan implementation and the education of future planners.
