We are pleased to welcome Beca to the NZPI Partnership Programme.

Beca employs around 3,500 people worldwide and as a result maintains relationships with and contributes to a wide number of professional institutes and membership organisations across the world.

John Duffy, General Manager - Beca Environments says,

“With a large professional services footprint in New Zealand, having strong relationships with and making substantial contributions to NZ professional institutes is essential to the ongoing growth and development of our people. This philosophy has seen us grow to be one of the largest planning and resource management consultancies in the country. Our relationship with the New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI) has been a long-standing one.

Over the past 30+ years’ our Environments business (comprising planners, environmental scientists, architects, urban designers and landscape architects) has grown to more than 180 people. Our relationship with the NZPI remains critical to helping grow and develop our people. We encourage our staff to contribute their time to promote the Institute and the planning profession and they continue to do this through volunteering time from the Board to the Branch/PAC; editing Planning Quarterly, developing and delivering CPD training, acting as mentors and involvement in membership panels. We actively encourage our emerging planners to get involved with the Institute and view the Supporter Agreement as means of partnering in developing our graduates into Full membership and beyond so that they remain up to date and engaged professionally.

We are proud of our planners and the work they do and acknowledge the Institute’s role in providing a framework of professional support, education and professional standards.

We are delighted to be a Supporter and look forward to working with the Institute to achieve the mutual benefits this framework provides, such as 2 –way recognition between organisations; supplying easier access and enhanced services for our professional staff; greater efficiency and better value (e.g. discounted subscriptions, a substantial saving for organisations).”

NZPI would like to congratulate all our partners on the commitment they have demonstrated to their planning employees through joining this programme.
