He waka eke noa – A canoe which we are all in
NZPI invites planners and allied professionals to the 2020 NZPI conference in Nelson/ Whakatū. The conference theme champions the planning profession to excel by considering the broader role of planning in today’s environment and explores ways to develop the profession as a thought leader guiding the strategic direction of New Zealand.
Call for Abstracts
NZPI are seeking speakers for the 2020 Conference - 'VALUES / VOICES / VISION' being held in Nelson, 31 March - 3rd April.
As planners we are called upon to listen to the many voices and sets of values represented in our increasingly diverse communities throughout New Zealand. How we respect and respond to those multiple voices and values is essential in setting out a vision for the kind of society and environments we wish to plan for.
Join us in Whakatū/Nelson - Te Tau Ihu o te Waka a Māui (the prow of Māui’s waka), to take stock of the wealth of experience and expertise we hold collectively as a profession. We seek your input in reflecting on and responding to past and foreseeable future challenges and opportunities planners face in transforming voices and values into bold visions. We welcome your creative and thought-provoking presentations on all aspects of planning in 2020 and beyond.
Submission of your bio, photo & abstract gives full authority for publication on the NZPI Conference Website & in the Conference Handbook if accepted as a speaker.
Acceptance or otherwise is at the discretion of the Conference Committee. Submitters will be advised of their acceptance in October 2019.
Abstracts must be submitted via the online submission form by 3pm, 13 September 2019.
